Brisbane Roar are delighted to announce that promising young Queensland midfielder, Sam Klein has signed a two-year scholarship deal with the club.
The 20-year-old box-to-box midfielder has earned the upgraded contract after a series of standout performances in Roar’s recent A-League matches, Klein is now signed with Brisbane Roar until 2027.
A product of the club’s NPL program, Klein rejoined the Roar ahead of the 2024/25 Isuzu UTE A-League season following a successful stint with Gold Coast Knights in the Queensland NPL. His four-goal contribution played a key role in securing the Premiership for the Knights, underlining his talent and ability to perform at a high level.
Klein made his A-League debut in 2022 during his previous tenure with the Roar and has since added eight top-flight appearances to his name this season. His return has bolstered Brisbane’s midfield, reinforcing the club’s commitment to developing and nurturing young homegrown talent.
He joins an exciting group of emerging young talent at the Roar, including Lucas Herrington, Jacob Brazete, Nathan Amanatidis, Pearson Kasawaya, and Quinn MacNicol, all of whom represent the club’s vision for the future.
“I’m delighted to sign my first pro contract, especially given the fact it’s for my local boyhood club,” Klein said.
“It’s been a dream of mine for a long time now, and to be given the opportunities this season to achieve that is something I’ll always be grateful for.”
Brisbane Roar are committed to fostering the next generation of football stars and look forward to seeing Klein continue his development and make an impact in the A-League for years to come.
