Brisbane Roar are set to face the Football Queensland state side on 20 September and 23 September as part of the 2025 Mitre Festival of Football.
Michael Valkanis’ men will be facing a squad featuring the best Queensland NPL has to offer including Lions’ Joe Duckworth and Andrew Pengelly, this year’s NPL top goal scorer, Daniel Leck from Olympic, and several other standout players from this seasons’ NPL campaign.
The squad also includes Matt Acton, Corey Brown, Matthew Ridenton and Rahmat Akbari, who are all former Roar players, with a strong percentage of the squad having played in the Roar academy at some point also.
Roar duo Austin Ludwik and Sam Klein both featured for the state team last year before earning A-league contracts for the club, signifying the level of talent set to be on show across the two fixtures.
