Brisbane Roar signs Taras Gomulka  

Brisbane Roar has bolstered its midfield stocks with the signing of Taras Gomulka from Melbourne City.  

The 21-year-old Adelaide-born defensive midfielder joins the Roar with 45 professional competitive appearances under his belt over 4 seasons. 

Gomulka made his professional debut for Adelaide United against Brisbane Roar in the 2019/20 season before going on to sign for Melbourne City the following season.  

The U23 Australian international joins the Roar looking to make an instant impact in orange and black. 

“I’m buzzing to join Brisbane Roar,” Gomulka said.

“Brisbane Roar is a club with great ambition, wanting to achieve success, which I hope I can help bring them.”

“I still remember my first professional game, my debut [against Brisbane Roar] and it was a very tough game.” 

“The Roar have a great drive to achieve success. They’re giving young talent opportunities, allowing them to express themselves.” 

Gomulka joins Brisbane Roar embarking on a new chapter in his career, looking to make an impact on the league and showcase his talent, drive and ambition to achieve success.  

“At Roar I’m looking to solidify a starting 11 spot, and start playing week in and week out, and see if I can take my game to the next level,” Gomulka said.  

Head Coach Warren Moon is excited to be welcoming Gomulka into the Brisbane Roar squad.  

“Tas [Taras] is one of the brightest young talents in the A-League, and we’re excited to be welcoming him to Brisbane,” Moon said.  

“He’s a player that has got great passing rate, he’s got the ability to get around the park. And he’s strong defensively.” 

“He comes to the club knowing he’s got a great opportunity to play, and take his game to the next level, and I believe we can help him do that.” 

Gomulka will be wearing the number 12 kit and is available for selection for this weekend’s game against Adelaide United.
