Brisbane Roar through to Australia Cup Quarter finals

Brisbane Roar are through to the Australia Cup Quarter finals after a massive 5-0 victory against last year’s finalists Sydney United 58 FC at Sydney United Sports Centre this afternoon.

It was none other than Henry Hore who opened the scoring in the 19th minute after a goalkeeping error saw him receive a pass from Nikola Mileusnic and confidently put it away.

For his first ever senior goal, Thomas Waddingham found the back of the net after Louis Zabala crossed the ball for the youngster to score a delightful header just before the break.

In the 56th minute, Henry Hore returned the favour after his cross found Mileusnic to score.

Alex Parsons made his way onto the field and was taken out in the box which saw Jay O’Shea power home a penalty to the top left of goal in the 66th minute.

15-year-old Quinn MacNicol was substituted onto the field with 20 minutes to go. After an Alex Parsons cross found Thomas Waddingham for a goal attempt, it was MacNicol who put it away for his first ever Brisbane Roar goal.

MacNicol became the youngest player to score a goal in a senior professional Brisbane Roar game.
