Brisbane Roar to deliver new four-day junior tournament in April

Brisbane Roar will bring together some of Australia’s finest young footballers next month for a new and exciting four-day tournament on the Gold Coast.

Hundreds of talented junior players are set to descend on the Gold Coast Sports Precinct from 15 to 18 April for a series of matches designed to support player development and identification.

The Roar has created the tournament for kids ranging from U8s to U14s, with teams from around Australia encouraged to submit expressions of interest.

A-Leagues clubs have been invited to compete in the U13 and U14 age groups alongside the Brisbane Roar Academy sides, who will gain valuable competitive experience.

“It is a great thrill for us to announce this tournament which has the potential to become one of the biggest youth football events in the country,” Brisbane Roar CEO David Pourre said.

“I have no doubt the teams, players and parents who take part will enjoy four fantastic days of football as they experience all the Gold Coast has to offer.

“We have strategically chosen to stage the tournament during the school holiday period to ensure everyone has a great time on and off the field.

“Spaces will fill up fast for team entries so I encourage everyone to keep an eye on the Brisbane Roar Academy website this week for the expression of interest form.”

Update: Expressions of Interest are now OPEN.

Further details including the full list of participating teams will be shared over the coming weeks.
