Brisbane Roar vs Western United match postponed

Brisbane Roar team celebration

Brisbane Roar can today advise that this weekend’s A-League Matchweek 14 fixture against Western United has been postponed.

Extreme weather and heavy rainfall earlier this week have significantly impacted the surface at Moreton Daily Stadium and forced the match to be rescheduled for a later date.

Brisbane Roar CEO David Pourre said: “It’s disappointing to have to make this decision, but it’s a decision made in the best interests of the players, members and fans.

“We know from experience that Moreton Daily Stadium is traditionally home to one of the best playing surfaces in Australia.

“Unfortunately, the pitch has been damaged by the recent extreme weather events and will not meet the high expectations around player safety despite the best efforts of all parties.

“We saw a similar situation with the postponement of the Big Blue in Sydney last weekend, and we have moved quickly to make this decision for the benefit of our members and fans.

“We do have full confidence that the Moreton Daily Stadium pitch will be back to its best in time for our Matchweek 15 game against Western Sydney Wanderers on Easter Saturday and our A-League preparations are focusing on that match.”

All ticket holders are urged to retain their tickets as Brisbane Roar works towards confirming a new date for the fixture.

The rescheduled match will be included as part of the membership package for full-season members.
