Brisbane Roar are delighted to welcome American goalkeeper Olivia Sekany on loan from Racing Louisville FC in the National Women’s Soccer League for the 2024/25 Ninja A-League Women Season until March 2025.
In 2023, Sekany earned a contract with Racing Louisville after a successful trial with the club that saw her make 26 appearances in her rookie season.
Before joining Racing Louisville, the 25-year-old played for the University of Washington who helped guide Washington to the regional semi-finals in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Tournament. She holds the record for the lowest goals-against average in program history.
“I am so excited to be joining Brisbane Roar for the 2024/25 A-League season,” Sekany said.
“From my first conversations with the staff, I immediately felt aligned with their mentality, style of play, and ambitions for the team. The club is creating a culture of excellence and striving to achieve great things this season, and I’m so thankful for the opportunity to compete for a championship alongside an exceptional group of players.”
“Getting to spend this upcoming season with the Roar is the perfect opportunity for me to take the next step in my career as a pro. It’s a chance for me to train alongside talented players every day in the top-level environment cultivated by the club, and to gain invaluable experience by playing against elite competition every week.”
“I look forward to stepping out onto the pitch in a Roar jersey this season and competing for a championship!”
