Bowles, a proud Queenslander, made 81 Hyundai A-League appearances across six seasons with the Club after also rising through the Roar’s youth ranks earlier in his career.
The 28-year-old says he feels the time was right to open a new chapter with his young family.
“I’ve met many amazing people along my footballing journey. I’ve met lifelong friends, experienced amazing things with amazing people,” Bowles said.

“It feels like the right time. I have many other interests outside of football which I’m looking forward to in the next chapter with my young family.
“It was a goal of mine to set myself up outside of football so I could transition out when I needed to, and it’s the right time for my family & I.”
“It’s hard to put my finger on an exact moment [as a highlight],but signing for Brisbane Roar and being at the Club for the period of time is probably the highlight for me. I grew up in Toowoomba where it was difficult to go on, get noticed and make it professionally.
“Playing professional football at Brisbane Roar for as long as I did – I didn’t think that would be possible, and being part of this Club – my boyhood Club that I grew up supporting – is something I’m extremely proud of and grateful for.”
On behalf of everyone in the Brisbane Roar family, we would like to extend our gratitude to Daniel for his service over many years & wish him and his young family all the best in their next chapter.
