Brisbane Roar FC are disappointed to advise, defender Daniel Bowles, requires major knee surgery which will rule him out of football for the rest of 2017.
The injury to Bowles occurred after a collision with a Melbourne City player in the 88th minute of last Saturday night’s match at AAMI Park in the Hyundai A-League competition.
Bowles, on Monday, 13 February had an MRI Scan on his right knee.
Unfortunately, after consulting Club surgeon Jeremy Bartlett it was determined that Daniel suffered a rupture to his right Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) and has some associated damage to surrounding cartilage.
Regrettably, surgery will now be performed as soon as possible to allow rehabilitation and recovery to commence.
BRFC will support Daniel throughout his recovery, providing the best possible medical care and help him make a successful return to action in 2018.
