Brisbane Roar defender Deborah-Anne De La Harpe is determined to bounce back this Saturday against former club Perth Glory after a productive training week has the squad hungry for three points.
“Our mindset is obviously to bounce back and get three points. We were really disappointed obviously from the weekend, but I think a big positive to take is how we bounced back with ten men, getting that goal back. It’s unfortunate to not get any points from it but we’re just really ready to bounce back,” De La Harpe said.
The 23-year-old has settled into Brisbane life well since signing on in December, and is enjoying playing her football in the Sunshine State.
“I’m loving Brisbane, the girls have been so welcoming, it’s a really great environment, definitely getting used to the humidity, but it’s been really nice, it’s a great place to live and play football. I’m really enjoying it!”
Anticipating a challenge from Perth Glory, De La Harpe has belief in her squad to put in a full performance and secure a big three points away from home.
“It’s going to be hard, they always put up a big fight, they’re a resilient team. It’s going to be a tough battle but we’re definitely ready. Looking forward to it,” she said.
“We just want to play our style of football, especially in the time that I’ve been here it’s just been awesome to see us progressing each week. We just want to put together a full 90 minutes of football and I know that if we do that, we’ll come away with the points.”
“The training this week has been really good so we’re just ready to give it everything and leave nothing on the field.”
