Excitement builds as the Young Roar prepare for Saturday afternoon’s PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues Queensland clash against SWQ Thunder at Suncorp Stadium.

Brisbane had to settle for a one-all draw following a disappointing late FNQ Heat equaliser last Sunday.

The Young Roar are determined to take all three points this time out when the team takes on the Thunder in Round 5 of the PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues Queensland Senior Men’s competition. Kick-off 4:10pm.

Head Coach James Robinson is fully aware of the fantastic and unique opportunity presented to his young side this weekend.

“Playing Saturday’s match at Suncorp has definitely added a bit of spice to the game,” he said.

“To play in front of our home fans, and experience that feeling, will be something refreshing for the boys.

“The euphoria of the occasion for both teams is going to be an interesting challenge.”

Reflecting upon Sunday’s 1-1 draw at Meakin Park, Robinson felt that although the Young Roar had controlled the majority of the game, they were unable to clinch the three-point.

“It was a challenge we hadn’t faced before. We need to make sure the score line reflects our performance within the game. We need to convert that possession to opportunities, and goals,” Head Coach James Robinson added.

“Players are still getting attuned to one another, as well as to our game structures. This is only going to strengthen the cause of what we are trying to achieve.”

Robinson acknowledged the danger that twelfth-place SWQ can pose to his Young Roar side but the team’s preparation will be the same as any other fixture.

“Two goals, twenty-two players, one ball – I think that’s the staple. We haven’t changed our process,” he said.

“Even though this is a really good experience for the boys, it’s just another ninety minutes of football where we play our game and keep pushing forward.

“We have an awareness of what they’re going to do.”

The Young Roar will be looking to implement their normal game plan despite the hype surrounding Saturday’s match at Suncorp Stadium kicking-off at 4:10pm. Don’t forget, gates open at 3:50pm.
