Colour, fun and excitement will be the order of the day when the Brisbane Roar hosts its annual Family Fun Day at Roma Street Parklands on August 1.
Celebrating a new season, a new look squad and a new era in the club-s history, the Family Fun Day will again bring fans, players and Roar officials together in a festival atmosphere.
Brisbane CEO Peter McLennan said the annual get-together – which will once again be proudly sponsored by Brisbane Airport Corporation – was one of the most vital elements of the club-s pre-season calendar.
“The Family Fun Day is extremely important to the club,” McLennan said.
“It-s a great opportunity for our fans to get close to the players, especially given that it-s such a new group this season, but even more importantly, it allows us as a club to get close to our fans.
“It-s a great day and seeing the fans turn out in orange is a fantastic sight.
“We as a club always look forward to the Family Fun Day each year because it-s a small way that we can give back to our fans and show our appreciation for the fantastic support they give to the club.”
Free rides, competitions, face-painting and the Roar Rapid Fire inflatable football field will all be part of this year-s event.
Fans will also get a chance to meet their heroes when the squad are presented their jerseys for the 2010/11 Hyundai A-League.
Entry to the Family Fun Day is free and there will be plenty of giveaways – including special Roar showbags – so don-t miss out!
The event will run from 10am to 2.30pm, with food, drink and the latest merchandise on sale. Brisbane players will be appearing from noon.
