Brisbane Roar can today announce the signing of Dutch forward Bente Jansen from Dutch top tier Eredivisie side, AFC Ajax for the upcoming Ninja A-League 25/26 season.
The 26-year-old arrives in Brisbane from AFC Ajax, where she has made 24 appearances and scored three goals since signing for the club in 2023.
Prior to her time in the capital, Jansen spent twelve years at FC Twente where she played more than 100 matches after making her professional debut in 2016. Jansen lifted silverware three times after winning the Women’s Eredivisie (league title) in 2019, 2021 and 2022 with FC Twente.
The attacker has also won the Dutch Cup with both clubs, the Dutch Super Cup with Twente, and reached the Quarter Finals of the Champions League with Ajax.
“I’m super happy and proud to play for Brisbane Roar and grateful for the confidence the club has in me,” Jansen said.
“My first conversations with Alex felt really good and the ambitious playing style immediately appealed to me and suits my own style of play very well.
“I want to make a direct impact on the field and help the team with my experience to achieve great goals in the upcoming season.”
“Very pleased to welcome Bente to the club,” Head Coach, Alex Smith said.
“It’s a huge coup for our program to sign a player of her calibre. She has extensive experience in a top European league and is in the prime of her career.
“She has fantastic technical ability and a proven track record of winning trophies.”
