Football Federation Australia have today released the following statement in regards to the Bakrie Group’s management of Brisbane Roar FC.
“Football Federation Australia (FFA) has received correspondence from the Bakrie Group in relation to the financial and management position of the Brisbane Roar FC.
“The Bakrie Group has provided written undertakings on the timing and quantum of current funding of the club and the longer-term recapitalisation.
“The Bakrie Group has advised FFA that it has appointed an Australian-based Managing Director to the Brisbane Roar. This director will act as interim CEO and commence in the role this week while the club seeks a permanent appointment as CEO.
“Further, FFA is advised that the new Managing Director will work with an Advisory Board comprising of Brisbane business people in order to restore community confidence in the Brisbane Roar.
“FFA welcomes the undertakings from the Bakrie Group and expects they will be implemented without delay.”
