Brisbane Roar are proud to announce goalkeeper George Plusnin has been selected in the 23-player CommBank Olyroos squad for two international friendlies against Korea Republic U23s at polytec Stadium, Gosford in October.
Plusnin is the only Brisbane Roar player named in the squad and one of three goalkeepers selected, alongside Jai Ajanovic (Central Coast Mariners) and Alexander Robinson (Macarthur Bulls).
Plusnin’s selection is a strong reflection of the pathway from Queensland junior football through Brisbane Roar and into Australia’s national team program.

The matches mark the start of the Olyroos’ campaign towards the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, with the squad first aiming to qualify for the AFC U-23 Asian Cup Japan 2028. Pre-qualification matches will be played in June 2027.
The October window will be overseen by CommBank Young Socceroos Head Coach Trevor Morgan and will be the first time the Olyroos have played on home soil since September 2019.
