Zara Kruger made a welcome return in Sunday’s match against Adelaide United, coming off the bench in midfield in the 75th minute after eight weeks sidelined with an ankle ligament injury.
“It’s been a while, but it was really good to get back out there on the pitch with the girls.It felt good tonight,” the 19-year-old Queenslander said post-match.
Despite goals from Adelaide’s Emily Hodgson (11′) and Ella Tonkin (78′), the Roarremain in the finals hunt, sitting in sixth place on the ladder.
The Ninja A-League now pauses for a three-week break while the AFC Asian Cup takesplace on home soil.“We’ll bounce back after this break and go again.
We’ll take this time to rest, recover,and get back into the training world,” Kruger said.
The Roar goes back to business on March 14, travelling to New Zealand’s capital to face the Wellington Phoenix.
