Henry Hore signs one-year extension before joining K League 1 side Gangwon FC on loan

Brisbane Roar are pleased to announce that Henry Hore has signed a contract extension that will see him at the club through to the end of the 2025/26 Isuzu UTE A-League season.

The 24-year-old will join K League 1 team Gangwon FC on a six-month loan with the inclusion of an undisclosed loan fee.

After establishing himself at A-League level for his hometown club, Hore is looking forward to testing himself in the K League 1. This loan agreement presents a chance for Hore to progress in his career as a professional footballer, and the club supports this new opportunity.

A Sunshine Coast local, Hore spent his childhood football playing for Sunshine Coast Fire before quickly being promoted to the Roar Youth team. He spent time at Perth Glory’s Youth team, Lions FC and South Melbourne FC before earning his first A-League contract with Brisbane Roar.

Hore has made 66 A-League appearances for Brisbane, scoring on 14 occasions since joining the club in 2021.

“It’s been great. I came up through the youth system. Growing up, I always came to the games and pretty much dreamt of playing at Suncorp, playing at my hometown club in front of friends and family. It’s something special,” Hore said.

“Super stoked to be signing an extension with the club, committing my future to Brisbane. It’s extra special because I want to get the club back to where it was a few years ago, I want to be successful with the club and win trophies. It’s a dream to play for the club that I grew up watching.”

The midfielder is looking forward to a new challenge in the K League 1 for the chance to experience a different league and attain international experience.

“I’m super excited. It’s a very good league. I’m very thankful to the Brisbane Roar management for allowing me to go and pursue this opportunity and I can’t wait to get started.”

Hore will return to Brisbane Roar from January 1, 2025.
