Highlights: Roar rain shots on Sydney but visitors prevail

Alex Parsons

Brisbane Roar were dealt a 2-0 defeat by a clinical Sydney FC side despite registering 19 more shots during Saturday’s final regular season game at Moreton Daily Stadium.

Warren Moon’s men will take plenty from a performance that merited much more than their first loss in nine home outings.

Kosta Barbarouses and Harry Van der Saag scored the goals for the visitors at either end of the match, while Alex Parsons and Dylan Wenzel-Halls were among those who drew saves from in-form Sky Blues goalkeeper Thomas Heward-Belle.

Brisbane’s attention will now turn to the home Elimination Final against Adelaide United on Sunday, 13 June (KO 3:05pm).

Tickets go on sale to Members from 10am on Monday, 7 June and to the general public from 9am on Tuesday, 8 June.
