Hingert progressing well in ACL recovery

Brisbane Roar defender Jack Hingert says his recovery from a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament  is tracking nicely as the Hyundai A-League season draws closer.

The fullback continues to increase his work load and involvement on the training park after undergoing surgery on his right knee following an injury sustained the Roar’s win over Sydney FC in February this year.

Six months on from his injury, Hingert say he’s more motivated than ever to return to the Roar line up for their Hyundai A-League 2019/20 tilt.

“It’s [the recovery] gone really well. It was tough at the start being separated from the boys, but I when I first did the injury we had quite a few injuries so when I was in the gym every day I had a few of the boys around me which did help,” Hingert said.

“You do get quite lonely after a while when everyone was back fit and I was still the only one injured – it’s hard to be as motivated.

“It’s been six months and I do probably the first half of the session now with the boys, even the ball stuff and the running – it’s just the contact stuff that I can’t do fully yet.

“I’m loving being back involved with the boys, the banter just getting involved with the ball, everything, it’s been great for me and it’s helped me a lot with the motivation as well once you’re back involved you just feel that bit closer.

“I’m really not too far off now so I’m feeling really good,” Hingert said.

“Everyone’s buzzing at the moment and because I’ve been on the outside a little bit I’ve been able to watch the boys at training and even I’m excited just watching the boys.”

“The way they’ve been training, the intensity and watching the game against Sydney FC a couple of weeks ago, it was extremely exciting and I’m sure any Brisbane Roar fan is excited as well.

“It’s definitely exciting times here and I’m really looking forward to seeing how we go against the Mariners,” Hingert said.
