Isuzu UTE A-League preview: Brisbane Roar v Adelaide United

Brisbane Roar will be hunting a second successive Isuzu UTE A-League victory when Adelaide United return to Moreton Daily Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Henry Hore’s first professional goal earned the Roar all three points against Perth Glory in midweek and set the side up for a charge up the ladder.

Adelaide, meanwhile, drew 2-2 at home to Melbourne City last time out as George Blackwood and Hiroshi Ibusuki found the scoresheet.

While the Reds have had a week to rest and recover, Brisbane may be forced into some changes for what will be their fourth game in 12 days.

“We have a few sore bodies,” Head Coach Warren Moon said on Saturday.

“That’s to be expected. We’ll have to look at the squad. We need to manage players – even if they’re available, we have to look after them. We’ve lost a few now to injury already.

“We’ve got plans in place should players not be okay but I’m sure whatever side we put out will be competitive.”

Heavy schedule or not, Brisbane are bound to come out full of energy after Wednesday’s breakthrough victory in front of an excited Roar fanbase.

Hore’s 77th-minute winner was the icing on a positive performance and set the scene nicely for a Sunday showdown against a dangerous Adelaide outfit.

“We’ve had some good battles with them in the last couple of seasons,” Moon said.

“For us, it’s really important that we continue on from Wednesday night and try to build on that with another result.

“It’s a long season. Things are going to change and you’re going to get ups and downs. We didn’t get the start we wanted but it was a good win the other night.

“The challenge is there for us to build on that and try to get another three points.”

Kick-off between Brisbane and Adelaide is at 5:45pm. Gates open at 5:00pm, with a free shuttle bus running between Kippa-Ring Station and Moreton Daily Stadium.
