Isuzu UTE A-League report: Lescano leads Roar to superb win in Perth

Juan Lescano scored twice as Brisbane Roar cruised to a convincing 4-1 away win over Perth Glory on Saturday night.

Without a road win going into the game, Brisbane banished those demons in convincing fashion thanks to a clinical performance led by Lescano.

The Argentine headed in the opener shortly before half-time and then doubled the margin with a tap in just prior to the hour, improving his Isuzu UTE A-League tally to four goals.

Jay O’Shea’s successful 81st-minute penalty put the result beyond doubt before Luke Ivanović added the icing off the bench with a sublime solo goal.

Perth found a late consolation through Daniel Symes but it did little to take any gloss off the Roar’s outstanding showing.

Warren Moon’s side have now won back-to-back matches for the first time this season and will be looking to make it three on the trot when champions Melbourne City come to Moreton Daily Stadium on Wednesday evening.

GOALS

Brisbane Roar | Juan Lescano (40′)

O’Shea creates a better angle for his free-kick, playing a short pass and then whipping in an inviting cross which Lescano nods into the net.

Brisbane Roar | Juan Lescano (58′)

Tom Aldred and Rahmat Akbari advance the ball through the middle of the pitch. The latter’s line-splitting pass finds Ryo Wada, whose deflected short breaks perfectly for Lescano to tap home.

Brisbane Roar | Jay O’Shea (81′)

On as a substitute, Jez Lofthouse proves too slippery for Darryl Lachman. The big defender’s foul in the box enables O’Shea to tuck away the Roar’s third and his first of the season.

Brisbane Roar | Luke Ivanović (89′)

More impact off the bench as Ivanović drives forward, skips past a couple of defenders and arrows his finish into the bottom left corner.

Brisbane Roar | Daniel Stynes (90’+2)

Stynes crashes in a thumping volley from a half-cleared corner.
