Isuzu UTE A-League report: Points shared between Roar and Victory on Anzac Day

Brisbane Roar took the lead but were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw with Melbourne Victory in an Anzac Day clash at Moreton Daily Stadium.

Alex Parsons gave the Roar a deserved lead with a sweet strike just before the hour, only for Brendan Hamill to equalise 14 minutes later.

Brisbane looked the more likely to score before Parsons’ opener and registered 18 shots to 12, although goalkeeper Jordan Holmes was required to make a fine one-on-one save from Marco Rojas after the equaliser.

Jay O’Shea squandered a good chance at the other end Victory had a narrow escape in added time when Hamill’s awkward back-pass and Ivan Kelava’s heavy touch almost opened the door for Juan Lescano.

The missed opportunities meant the teams shared the spoils for the second time in two weeks.

Warren Moon’s men will now look ahead to Saturday’s away date with Adelaide United, before returning home to round out the season with two home matches.
