Brisbane Roar paid the price for a disappointing first 45 minutes in a 2-0 defeat away to Adelaide United on Saturday night.
George Blackwood and Hiroshi Ibusuki both scored in the space of 13 first-half minutes to hand Adelaide all three points at Coopers Stadium.
The Roar improved after the interval with Connor Chapman and Nikola Mileusnić providing added impetus but were unable to reduce the deficit.
Brisbane will look to bounce back quickly in a bid to claim maximum points from the two remaining home fixtures, beginning with Tuesday’s game against Central Coast Mariners.
