Brisbane Roar wishes to advise that the Club and Jamie Young have mutually agreed to terminate the goalkeeper’s contract effective immediately.
The 35-year-old departs the Roar after seven seasons and 144 A-League appearances in orange.
Young won two Gary Wilkins Medals in that time and was part of six Finals Series campaigns.
“On behalf of the Club, I thank Jamie for his contribution to Brisbane Roar over the past seven years,” Head Coach Warren Moon said.
“I’m sure he will be fondly remembered by our fans and we join them in wishing him well for the future.
“As the playing squad evolves, we’re excited about the level of goalkeeping talent coming through that will take the team forward.”
Young thanked Roar supporters, adding: “Being part of the Brisbane Roar has been a big part of my life.
“When I came here I had to battle it out from the bench and I hope my journey shows that people can strive to be something more with dedication, persistence, and resilience.
“My hope is that I have at least inspired someone out there to pursue a life of passion and determination.”
