Brisbane Roar has bolstered it’s A-League squad with the addition of exciting Japanese young gun Riku Danzaki.
Danzaki joins the Roar from J1 League club Consadole Sapporo where he made his top-flight debut at 18 years-old.
The 20-year-old scored his maiden goal for the club in just his third appearance – a 4-1 J-League Cup win in April 2019 – a competition in which Danzaki made eight appearances and Sapporo finished as runners-up.
“I have heard a lot of good things about Brisbane,” Danzaki said.
“My strong points are getting involved in attacks, scoring and creating goals. I am looking forward to joining Brisbane Roar and giving my all for the team.”
Head Coach Warren Moon says the exciting Japanese product is a superb addition to his squad, and one the Club’s passionate fans should be excited about.

“We are stoked to have a player like Riku in the orange jersey for the upcoming season,” Moon said.
“At such a young age he brings with him terrific experience having played in the top league & cup competitions in Japan. These competitions are not only some of Asia’s finest, but feature some of the world’s best players.
“He’s a player who is coming to Brisbane to develop himself as a player and continue building what is sure to be a huge career in front of him – he’s regarded as one of Japan’s most exciting prospects.
“He will not only bring experience, but flair, enthusiasm and talent that I believe is a massive addition to our squad and will be exciting to watch this season.”
