Kappa Pro Series R4 Preview: Young Roar vs Broadbeach United

Young Roar are up against Broadbeach United in their penultimate Kappa Pro Series Group D match at Meakin Park on Sunday afternoon.

Karl Dodd’s side come into the fourth round of group stage matches in fourth place in Group D, two point shy of second placed City with the top two sides in the group set to progress to the quarter finals.

Roar come into Sunday’s match off the back of a 1-1 draw against Magic United where the sides traded goals through Ty Cobb and Mason Cross.

Broadbeach, who are coached by Leighton Speechley-Price sit fifth in the group after three games with one point to their name.

The side from Nikiforides Park, who finished fifth in FQPL 1 in 2024 were beaten 5-4 by Brisbane City in their most recent outing.

Sunday’s match is Young Roar’s final hit out before they kick off the 2025 NPL Queensland season against Peninsula Power at AJ Kelly Park on Saturday, February 22.

Several new faces have have been blooded in the Pro Series for Young Roar with Noah Maieroni, Adam Shaker, Christian Naveen, Jack Child, Sam Flannery and Archie Mitchell all having played their first minutes for the club in the Pro Series.

Unfortunately, there will be no live stream for Sunday’s match which kicks off at 3pm at Meakin Park.
