“Finals are always the goal”: Electrifying Queensland product Kijah Stephenson commits to club for 25/26 season

Brisbane Roar can today announce the return of exciting attacker Kijah Stephenson for the upcoming 25/26 Ninja A-League season.

A Bundaberg native, Stephenson joined the club in 2022 after bursting on the scene with Sunshine Coast fire before impressing at NPL level through the Football Queensland QAS program.

The 23-year-old made 27 appearances and scored four goals for the club across two seasons before sustaining an ACL injury in her NPL QLD season with Olympic FC and was unable to play in the 24/25 season due to her rehabilitation.

Stephenson has now overcome her rehabilitation, and the speedy forward is back for an exciting season.

“It’s been a long, challenging year recovering from injury, but I’m excited to be back,” Stephenson said.

“I’ve had an enormous amount of support from the club throughout this journey, and I’m honoured to be given the opportunity to continue to be a part of it.

“We’re looking to build on last year’s performance. While finals are always the goal, it’s just as important for us to be a club our fans can be proud to support.”

Speaking on Stephenson’s return, Head Coach Alex Smith said: “Really pleased to welcome Kijah back.

“The timing of her injury last year was devastating for her, but I have seen the hard work she has put into her rehab.

“Kijah is one of the most talented players I have worked with, and I can’t wait for her to showcase that again this year.”
