Larissa Crummer in contention for 100 Liberty A-League Women’s games for Brisbane Roar

Brisbane Roar star forward Larissa Crummer is set to hit 100 Liberty A-League games with the Roar in the Round 15 match-up against Perth Glory on Saturday.

The career milestone follows her success with the Matilda’s winning the Cup of Nations after claiming a 3-0 victory over Jamaica earlier this week.

Crummer burst into the professional football scene as a 16-year-old with Sydney FC and went on to play with Melbourne City, Seattle Reign and Newcastle Jets.

Her career came to a halt in 2018 as she suffered a broken tibia and fibula in a nasty collision which would see her out of the game for two years as she began the recovery process.

“It was a very long two years. I didn’t think that I would be back playing, let alone be back where I am now. I’m slowly working back to where I used to be,” Crummer said.

After returning to training with the team after sufficient recovery, she has eventually bounced back to goal-scoring form and continues to be one of the best in the Liberty A-League.

The prolific striker re-joined Brisbane in 2021 for her fifth season, after having played with the club between 2013 and 2015.

In her 2021/2022 season with the Roar, Crummer won the club’s golden boot with eight goals.

She has scored a total of 12 goals since returning to her hometown club in 2021.

Crummer will be looking forward to putting on a performance in Perth on Saturday night to rein in the 100-game milestone the right way.

“The Cup of Nations was definitely a good win. We’re still on a high which is good, so we’ll hopefully bring it into the game this weekend,” Crummer said.

“It’s a must-win game for Brisbane, I think we’re all excited and we are ready for the challenge.”

Brisbane Roar will commemorate Larissa’s 100x Liberty A-League Women’s games at our next home game on March 11 at Perry Park, Brisbane Roar v Western United.

KO Saturday 6:00pm AEST on Paramount+ and 10Play.
