The 2022/23 Liberty A-League draw has been released.
Brisbane Roar will start their season with two home games at Perry Park against Newcastle Jets on Saturday 19 November with Canberra United to follow on Saturday 26 November.
Both matches will kick-off at 2pm AEST (3pm AEDT).
This follows the Australian Professionals Leagues’ (APL) move to schedule fixtures around more family-friendly times.
The Roar will have to wait until the new year to take on the new A-League Women’s side Western United when they head to Sydney on Saturday 21 January.
The team will then finish their 2022/23 season at home against Perth Glory on 1 April.
For the first time, all registered junior players, under the age of 16, across the country, will have free access to the ‘Liberty pass’ which will allow them to watch every single Liberty A-League game this season.
It follows on from last weekend’s announcement that every single A-League Women’s match would be live and free on 10 Play as well as on Paramount+.
APL Chief Executive Officer, Danny Townsend said in the lead-up to the FIFA 2023 World Cup, that it’s the chance to capitalise and ensure a lasting legacy for women’s football.
Memberships went “through the roof” after 87,000 fans watched this year’s UEFA Women’s Final and the English FA Women’s Super League Clubs.
“This year, we have every single Liberty A-League Women game available live and free for the first time ever, and free access for every participant under season to watch the games in person.,” Townsend said.
“We know how our fans are consuming sport and we are better serving that growing audience of young, digitally connected fans,” he added.
