Brisbane Roar FC has bolstered its midfield stocks with exciting young gun Stefan Mauk signing a four-year deal.
The 22-year-old, who is a Hyundai A-League Championship winner with Adelaide United, joins the Roar from Dutch outfit N.E.C (Nijmegen Eendracht Combinatie) and will link up with his new teammates in preparation for his first season in Roar Orange this week.
The talented youngster, who has represented Australia at U17, U20 & U23 levels, and boasts senior experience both domestically and in Europe, is looking forward to kick-starting the Clubās tilt at a fourth Hyundai A-League crown.
āI believe the Brisbane Roar is a perfect place for me to develop and Iām delighted to commit my long-term future to the Club. Iām looking forward to a successful future,ā Mauk said.
āIām excited to team up with the Roar and [Head Coach] John Aloisi who Iāve worked with previously. He gave me my first opportunity as a professional footballer and Iām keen to improve my game in Brisbane.
āWeāve made some really good signings and the squad is shaping up nicely. Scoring goals is a massive part of my game and Iām here to do that and help us win another title.
āFinally, Iād like to thank my agent and all parties involved for making this move possible. I canāt wait for season 2018/19 to begin.ā
Mauk, who spent 2017-18 on loan at fellow Hyundai A-League Club Melbourne City, is well known for his versatility and goal-scoring ability, which will be a dangerous weapon for the Roar after finding the back of the net 11 times in his last two Hyundai A-League campaigns.
“We’re extremely pleased to secure a talented young Australian footballer who has committed his long-term future to BRFC,” Head Coach John Aloisi said.
“I remember giving Stefan his Hyundai A-League debut approximately five years ago and ever since Iāve been following his progress closely.
“We are very confident that he will suit our style of play and excite our supporters and the local football community.
Mauk is the latest addition to the BRFC squad for the upcoming campaign as pre-season preparations get underway.
“Our squad is nearly complete and I know the players are hungry for success. We are working hard as a group to be successful in 2018/19 and beyond.”
