McQueen: It’s starting to click

After securing a 2-1 victory on Sunday, Holly McQueen said things are starting to click for Alex Smith’s side after a big three points against Wellington Phoenix.

The defender expressed her excitement after a long-awaited win following an eight-game winless streak and hopes to continue this momentum in the games to come.

“It’s amazing, it’s a great feeling. We’re ready to roll onto next weekend as well,” McQueen said.

“[Wellington] kept swapping in and out around everywhere. We just kept switched on and pushing throughout the whole game.”

“It’s starting to click as you can see now, we’re working forward and pushing every week.”

The squad now looks to United Round in Sydney, where Roar will take on Newcastle Jets at Leichhardt Oval in pursuit of back-to-back wins.

“Can’t wait, it’s very exciting. First time ever so we’re going to go for the win!”
