Brisbane Roar has bolstered its goalkeeper stocks ahead of the Hyundai A-League 2019/20 season, signing New Zealand international Max Crocombe.

The 25-year-old stopper has signed on at the Club for the upcoming campaign from recently-promoted English League Two outfit Salford City.

ā€œIā€™m buzzing. As soon as the opportunity came up, it was something I wanted to be a part of,ā€ Crocombe said.

ā€œIā€™m looking to make the next step in my career and take on a new challenge. Iā€™ve had my eye on the Hyundai A-League for a few years, and this opportunity felt like it was the right move.

ā€œI know a lot of players in the league so I keep in touch with how itā€™s going. Itā€™s a good standard of football, a fresh challenge for me and I canā€™t wait to get started and test myself.ā€

Crocombe

The New Zealand international signed his first professional contract as an 18-year-old & has plied his trade at various clubs in England including Oxford United, Barnet, Carlisle United & Salford City.

After featuring in the national team set-up at U20 & U23 levels, including two appearances at the 2013 FIFA U20 World Cup, he made his full international in a friendly against Canada in March 2018.
