NEWS: BRFC Academy opportunity for Queensland Pro Licence coaches

Brisbane Roar can announce that the club’s Football Academy are searching for full-time and part-time staff to work in the BRFC Academy program due to commence in January 2018.

Brisbane are seeking an individual to be Head Coach of an Academy side working with players between the age of 13-19 while supporting the wider football community, specifically Brisbane Roar’s Academy partners.

The Roar are also searching for part-time Coaches to work in our Academy Preparation Centres across Queensland.

BRFC Academy Director Drew Sherman (below) is seeking to recruit Pro License holders with extensive experience in youth development to work with junior footballers of all age groups. 

“Our Academy aims to place the best players in the best environment to develop,” Sherman said. 

“Our absolute priority is ensuring that we are able to provide them with access to the best youth development coaches.”

Brisbane Roar Football Club see the imminent Academy as a pathway, not only for players but also for talented coaches across Queensland. 

Coaches will work with players between the ages of 5-12 and will be supported by Brisbane Roar’s coach-mentoring program. 

Brisbane Roar’s Academy is a long-term commitment, and the Roar is passionate about helping our part-time staff progress their own careers as coaches. 

“We’re looking for pro-active people who are enthusiastic about player development and committed to making a positive contribution to football here in Queensland,” Sherman added.

“It’s important that we have people involved in our Academy from bottom up that understand the player-centered nature of youth development and fit the values of our club as a person.

“Ultimately, the stronger the network of Australian coaches working in player development, the better players we will be able to produce for Brisbane Roar.”

The closing date for full-time applicants will be Monday, 7 August 2017
