Nikola Mileusnic signs on ahead of the 2023/24 season

Brisbane Roar is delighted to announce that Nikola Mileusnic has signed on again (from Friday 14 July 2023) ahead of the 2023/24 Isuzu UTE A-League campaign for his third season at the club. The attacker signing a one-year deal.

Mileusnic joined the Roar in 2021 from Danish Superliga side Randers, having previously spent four seasons with Adelaide United.

Since moving to Brisbane, the 30-year-old has made 35 appearances and scored seven goals and will be looking for more to his name in the upcoming season under Head Coach Ross Aloisi.

The two-time Australia Cup winner is known for his speed, recording an in-game top speed of 36.2km/h during his time with Adelaide.

Aloisi is pleased to see the speedster remain at the Brisbane Roar and believes he is key to achieving the high level of football he would like to see in his squad.

“We’re very happy that he has re-signed and is staying with the club for a number of reasons,” Aloisi said.

“One of the biggest reasons is because he is one of the fastest, if not the fastest player in the league. To have him here with us for the brand of football that we want to play, we’re super excited to continue to work with him,” he added.

Aloisi is expecting Mileusnic to bring experience to the team, particularly to the younger players and hopes he can capitalise on his pace in the upcoming season for more goals.

“We believe he’s going to bring experience. He’ll definitely bring his pace which becomes dangerous for opposition teams because anyone with pace in the A-League is always super dangerous,” Alosi said.

“He’s got a great right foot and we would like to work with him more to get him to set up goals, and score more goals,” he said.

“That will be our plan with him as well. But to get him to a level where he can continuously make those repeated sprints in behind the defensive opposition to be dangerous and be very effective for us.”
