Young Roar go up against Rochedale Rovers in NPL Queensland Round 8 action at Underwood Park on Sunday afternoon.
Roar come into Sunday’s match off the back of a 1-1 draw with Peninsula Power in a match that saw both sides find the back of the net from the penalty spot with strikes from Rylan Brownlie and Brenton Fox.
17-year-old, Brownlie, who is Roar’s youngest ever A-League goal scorer took his tally for the 2024 NPL Queensland season to four with his penalty on Sunday.
Young Roar sit ninth on the NPL Queensland ladder with six points to their name after seven rounds of action.
Rochedale, who are coached by former Young Roar mentor Owen Baker and played out a 2-2 draw with Gold Coast United in their last outing occupy eleventh on the league table with two points to their name so far.
Rochedale are home to ex-Roar duo Jordan Holmes and Patrick Theodore along with several former academy players including Cooper Mccormack, Harry Talbot, Josh Moreland, Cooper Nichols Oliver Dearn and Liam Mcarthur.
The U23 match has been postponed following the weekend’s wet weather in South East Queensland.
Sunday’s NPL Queensland Round 8 clash kicks off at 4:15pm and will be live streamed on FQTV & the Football Queensland YouTube channel.
