One of Australia’s best shot stoppers commits to the Roar

Brisbane Roar have added another CommBank Matilda to their ranks with goalkeeper Chloe Lincoln signing on in orange for the Ninja A-League 2025/26 season.

A tall, athletic and intelligent shot stopper, Lincoln joins Tameka Yallop and Laini Freier as the Roar’s third national team player after making her Matildas debut against Chinese Taipei in December last year.

Lincoln has been a regular in the Australian national team pathway, representing Australia at the 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, the 2024 AFC U-20 Women’s Asian Cup and the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

Despite being just 20 years old, Lincoln arrives in Brisbane with more than 50 Ninja A-League games under her belt.

Lincoln spent the 2024/25 season with Western United where she played 15 times, helping the Green and Black secure finals football, establishing herself as one of Australia’s brightest goalkeeping talents.

Prior to her time in Tarneit, the shot-stopper spent three seasons with Canberra United, where she made 39 appearances after debuting in the Ninja A-League as a 17-year-old.

The statement signing is Head Coach Alex Smith’s first new addition ahead of the Ninja A-League 2025/26 season and speaking on her announcement said: “I am thrilled to welcome Chloe onboard for next year. At such a young age, she already has a lot of experience in the league and also now with the Matildas.

“I believe she will help us play the way we want and accomplish our goals. I am really looking forward to working with her and seeing her continue to improve.

“Brisbane Roar has a history of bringing in top goalkeepers, and Chloe is no different. I am pleased that we have the best young Australian goalkeeper coming to the club.”

Brisbane Roar Chief Executive Officer, Kaz Patafta said: “Brisbane Roar is excited to welcome Chloe to the club and look forward to seeing her hit the ground running.

“Chloe comes to the Roar as one of the Australia’s best goalkeepers and as a CommBank Matilda, she serves as a strong statement of intent as we aim to return to finals football in the Ninja A-League next season.”
