Midfielders Jay O’Shea and Isobel Dalton took out the major honours at Brisbane Roar’s awards presentation and season launch at DFO Brisbane Airport on Saturday.
O’Shea became the 11th different player to win the prestigious Gary Wilkins Medal following his standout performances in the run to last season’s top-four finish.
The Irishman, who scored four goals and notched three assists, also claimed the A-League Men’s Players’ Player of the Year award for the second year running.
Dalton was named A-League Women’s Player of the Year in recognition of her league-high seven assists from 12 appearances, the deep-lying playmaker having consistently impressed with her composure and passing ability as she earned a move abroad to English side Lewes FC.
Club great Clare Polkinghorne, now with Vittsjo GIK, scooped the A-League Women’s Players’ Player of the Year honour.
Riku Danzaki (9 goals) and Emily Gielnik (13 goals) were the Golden Boot winners, while emerging talents Kai Trewin and Jamilla Rankin were named the Breakthrough Players of the Year.
Off the field, three-time Championship winner and now Football Director Shane Stefanutto was awarded the Club Person of the Year accolade for his tireless and ongoing contribution.
CEO David Pourre presented Dianne Farrell with the Supporter of the Year honour, and Lisa Webb was thanked for her enormous efforts with the Volunteer of the Year trophy.
