Brisbane Roar has welcomed back another fan favourite with American defender Carson Pickett returning for the Westfield W-League 2019/20 season.
The versatile defender, who has shown a keen eye for goal during her first two campaigns at Brisbane Roar, today became the 16th addition to Jake Goodship’s squad, arriving from NWSL outfit Orlando Pride.
The 26-year-old is thrilled to be back for a third Westfield W-League campaign in orange.
“I’m super excited, I love coming to Australia and my heart is here in Brisbane. We’ve got a great squad and I just can’t wait for the season to start,” Pickett said.
Pickett has been one of the Roar Women’s most consistent contributors over the past two campaigns, taking the field in every game since the opening round of the 2017/18 season.
After consecutive top-two finishes, Pickett is hungry to go one step further this time around.
“I feel like there’s unfinished business here. We’re all so ready to get back together chasing that goal that we set three years ago, ahead of my first season, and longer for many of the others.
“There’s a core group of players that have been here together for the last few years – that’s special to have that group and great to keep adding world-class players.”
