Brisbane Roar’s ALW & ALM squads have been locked in ahead of what is sure to be another big weekend of A-League action.
On Saturday Roar will host Central Coast Mariners in Liberty A-League Women’s action at Ballymore Stadium ahead of a battle against Sydney FC at Allianz Stadium in an Isuzu UTE A-League Men’s Round 20 fixture on Sunday.
Ahead of Saturday’s ALW Round 19 action Alex Smith has named an unchanged squad from the side that defeated Melbourne City 2-0 at Perry Park last weekend.
Roar start the weekend in ninth position, four points shy of the competition’s top six coming into a run that sees them play three of their final four regular season matches at home.
There is just one change to the ALM side ahead of Sunday’s clash against Sydney FC with Louis Zabala, who was a late addition to matchday squad for last weekend’s win over Melbourne Victory named in the extended squad for Sunday’s trip to Sydney in place of Carlo Armiento.
Roar, sit seventh on the ALM ladder – three points outside the competition’s top six and come into Sunday’s match off the back of an impressive 3-2 win over Melbourne Victory last weekend.
Sydney are also in strong form heading into Sunday’s match, having defeated Western Sydney Wanderers 4-1 in the derby last weekend and are unbeaten in their last seven games.
The Sky Blues currently sit fifth on the A-League ladder with Roar able to move to within two points of them with a win on Sunday.
