Isuzu UTE A-League Report: Victory too strong in Melbourne

Brisbane Roar’s attention will turn to a long-awaited first home match of the 2021/22 season following a 3-0 defeat to Melbourne Victory at AAMI Park on Sunday.

The Roar started well but were unable to recover from Kai Trewin’s unfortunate own goal midway through the first half as Nicholas D’Agostino and Ben Folami struck either side of half-time to put the result beyond doubt.

On a tough afternoon, there were bright spots for Brisbane in the shape of Isuzu UTE A-League debuts for new arrivals Juan Lescano and Henry Hore.

And having dealt with matchday travel to Melbourne in each of the first two rounds, all focus will now shift to an uninterrupted week of preparation leading into Saturday’s big home clash with Adelaide United at Moreton Daily Stadium.

Kick-off in that match is at 4:05pm Queensland time.
