Brisbane Roar is pleased to be continuing its commitment to the development of young footballers in Australia with the establishment of a new Academy centre on the New South Wales (NSW) Far North Coast.

The new centre, open to both boys and girls in U8 ā€“ U12 age groups and will be based at Byron Bayā€™s Cavanbah Centre, is the first direct pathway to a Hyundai A-League and Westfield W-League Club on NSWā€™s Far North Coast.

The centre further extends the presence of the Roarā€™s Academy across Queensland and NSW, with centres already established extensively across South-East Queensland and as far south as Port Macquarie.

ā€œWe have placed an emphasis on providing tools and resources to assist in the development of as many young footballers across South-East Queensland as possible, and now weā€™re extending south of the border as well,ā€ Academy General Manager Warren Moon said.

ā€œAdding to the centre already established in Port Macquarie, this new Talent ID centre in Byron Bay presents an opportunity that young footballers in the region, as well as local coaches, havenā€™t previously had.

An information session will be held at Byron Bay Services Club on Sunday, 14 June from 10:30am. Register HERE.

ā€œWe are encouraging all footballers in the Far North Coast region, and local coaches as well, who are interested in furthering their development under our Brisbane Roar methodology to attend and see what the Brisbane Roar Academy is about.ā€

Players from across all Far North Coast clubs will be eligible to be identified. Sessions will be scheduled to avoid clashes with local football commitments, with the new centre designed to compliment training and development already happening in the region.

ā€œItā€™s terrific to see our Academy continuing to increase its influence on youth development not just in Queensland, but in Northern New South Wales as well,ā€ CEO David Pourre said.
