Brisbane Roar were defeated by Perth Glory 1-0 at Perry Park on Saturday afternoon in their final round of the 2022/2023 Liberty A-League season.
The match was scoreless up until the 72nd minute where Perth capitalised on a set piece to crush Brisbane’s hopes of finishing the season on a high.
In the 39th minute, Hollie Palmer attempted a shot in the 18-yard box after beating Perth defence which forced a great save by Morgan Aquino.
Shea Connors created another opportunity for the Roar in the 66th minute when she gained possession outside the 18-yard box and took a shot from long range that hit the left goal post.
Margot Robinne followed up on the deflection of Connors’ shot but her attempt flew over the bar.
A corner from Hana Lowry found Gabriella Coleman in the 72nd minute for a header that put Perth up 1-0 to seal the victory.
Although Brisbane did not find the result they were looking for, they were pleased to cap off their Liberty A-League season in front of home support.
