Roar captain Norrie cleared of injury

Brisbane Roar have received positive Liberty A-League injury news with captain Ayesha Norrie cleared of any significant concerns following Saturday’s match against Melbourne City.

Norrie was substituted in the 66th minute at Moreton Daily Stadium after a collision with an opposition player.

An MRI on Sunday confirmed only a minor ankle issue which is unlikely to interrupt the midfielder’s season.

“We had an MRI yesterday with really good results,” team physio Will Thwaite said.

“No major structural damage and she’s feeling really good today, so it’s all looking really positive after what initially looked like it could have been a big injury.

“We’re all very happy with that result. She bounces back pretty quickly, and she’s moving really well already. It’s looking really good.”

Norrie will undergo further assessment leading into Wednesday’s away game against Sydney FC to determine her availability.
