Brisbane Roar will travel to South Australia for the Westfield FFA Cup Round of 16 after today’s draw saw the three-time Hyundai A-League Champions drawn against Josep Gombau’s Adelaide United.
After defeating National Premier Leagues WA side Stirling Lions 4-0 in Perth on Tuesday night, Mike Mulvey’s men will have to now defeat the Reds for a place in the competition’s quarter-finals.
“It’s the only all A-League clash so we’re really looking forward to the challenge,” Head Coach Mike Mulvey said.
“We’re on the road again but we have a good record away from home so it’ll make for a great encounter down in Adelaide.
“The FFA Cup has become a great part of the pre-season landscape – previously, the pre-season was quite long but now it’s punctuated with Cup fixtures which is great for our preparation for the season proper.”
Match details including time, venue and date for the Westfield FFA Cup Round of 16 match will be advised early next week.
