Brisbane Roar captain Matt Smith and two-time Johnny Warren medallist Thomas Broich are the latest players to be fan-voted into the Foxtel A-League All Stars to face Italian giants Juventus FC in Sydney.

Smith and Broich played every minute of every match in the 2013/14 season as Brisbane Roar clinched the Hyundai A-League Premiership and Championship double in impressive style and have been rewarded with places in Josep Gombau-s squad for the 10 August encounter.

This is Broich-s second Foxtel A-League All Stars selection, having played 60 minutes and providing the assist for the All Stars- only goal against Manchester United last July.

“I really enjoyed the experience last year, going into camp with the other A-League boys and playing against Manchester United so I-m looking forward to it again,” Broich said.

Smith was recovering from season-ending hip surgery when United came to Australia last year, making him all the more eager to be involved this time around against the Italian champions.

“It-s an honour to be selected so big thanks to the fans for voting,” the Roar skipper said.

“As a footballer, you want to test yourself against the best and this is definitely an opportunity to do so.”

The remaining fan-voted players in the Foxtel A-League All Stars 2014 squad, as well as Gombau-s four wild card picks, will be announced over the coming days.

The Foxtel A-League All Stars will assemble for a training camp in Wollongong between 1-6 August which will include a fan day and open training session (Sunday, 3 August) and a training match against the Young Socceroos (Tuesday, 5 August).

Smith and Broich will be back in Brisbane after the Juventus FC match to prepare for the FFA Cup match against Stirling Lions on Tuesday, 19 August in Perth and the Townsville Football Cup between 24-30 August in North Queensland.

The Foxtel A-League All Stars match against Juventus FC will be broadcast live and exclusive on the Seven Network nationally on Sunday 10 August.
