Brisbane Roar have shared the points in Western Sydney after a hard fought 1-1 draw in Round 13 of the Ninja A-League Women on Friday night.
Leia Varley showcased Roar’s first opportunity on goal with a great header effort at the back post that was saved by Wanderers goalkeeper, Shamiran Khamis.
After a scoreless first half, it was Ella Buchanan who opened the scoring for the hosts after a hustle in the box ended with the ball in the back of the net.
Aimee Medwin made her 50th Ninja A-League Women appearance at Wanderers Football Park. Medwin was close to putting her name on the scoresheet in the 54th minute when she struck the ball from range, but was ultimately denied by Khamis.
Up next, Roar are right back into it as they return home to Spencer Park for a clash against Melbourne City on Tuesday night before also hosting Canberra United on Friday night.
