Brisbane Roar secured a massive three points in a five-goal thriller at HBF Park against Perth Glory on Friday night.
18-year-old Grace Kuilamu opened the scoring away from home with a stellar strike that took a deflection off a Perth defender into the back of the net in the 21st minute.
Perth were quick on the counter after Rola Badawiya brilliantly struck the ball past Chloe Lincoln to equalise in the West.
After returning from the break, it took no time for Dutch forward Bente Jansen to put her name on the scoresheet. In the 52nd minute, Sharn Freier crossed the ball in for Jansen to effortlessly header the ball past Glory goalkeeper, Alyssa Dall’oste.
Only three minutes later, Jansen was back in the action after threading a spectacular strike through Glory defence that hit the right post and rolled past the line.
Just before the full-time whistle blew, Perth’s Ella Lincoln contributed another goal to the hosts after getting the best of Roar defence and firing the ball into the back of the net.
Roar will be delighted with a big three points on the road before returning to Spencer Park next weekend to host Western Sydney Wanderers in Round 3.
