Brisbane Roar is set to host a second massive match in as many days this Easter weekend with the Club’s do-or-die Westfield W-League Semi Final to take place at Lions Stadium on Sunday, 4 April.

Jake Goodship’s side will face Melbourne Victory in Richlands (kick-off 4:00pm AEST) after the Australian Professional Leagues (APL) locked in details for both Semi Finals.

The news comes after confirmation that the Roar’s much-anticipated A-League meeting with Western Sydney Wanderers would go ahead at Moreton Daily Stadium on Saturday, 3 April.

Roar CEO David Pourre urged fans to get out in force with the Greater Brisbane lockdown now lifted.

“It’s absolutely fantastic that we’re able to host both the A-League game and this Westfield W-League Semi Final on the same Easter weekend,” Pourre said.

“I can’t wait to see the best fans in Australia come out in their numbers with no other professional sport able to offer live entertainment like this in Brisbane over the next few days.

“Jake and the team have had an outstanding season and we’re very confident they will get us through to the Grand Final.”

The Roar finished second on the Westfield W-League ladder, two points ahead of third-placed Victory.

The teams will be vying for a spot in the Grand Final against either Sydney FC or Canberra United, who meet in the other Semi Final on Monday.

APL Commissioner Greg O’Rourke was truly excited about the upcoming Westfield W-League 2021 Finals Series.

“The Westfield W-League 2020/21 Season has been one of the closest in the history of the competition and we congratulate Sydney FC for becoming this season’s Premiers,” said O’Rourke

“Throughout the season we have seen some amazing performances from our new generation of young footballers as well as some outstanding achievements from our more experienced players as well.

“The four teams in the Westfield W-League 2021 Finals Series have all taken points off each other during the regular season and as a result there are no clear favourites heading into this weekend.

“With the matches being held over the Easter weekend, this is an ideal opportunity for football fans to get behind their team as they give it all for a place in the Westfield W-League 2021 Grand Final,” concluded O’Rourke.

The Westfield W-League 2021 Grand Final will be held on Sunday, 11 April, with the highest ranked team that qualifies also earning the hosting rights for the match.

All matches of the Westfield W-League 2021 Finals Series, including the Westfield W-League 2021 Grand Final, will be broadcast live on FOX SPORTS, ABC TV, Kayo Sports and the My Football Live App.
