Brisbane Roar will play Melbourne Victory at Suncorp Stadium on Friday,15 April (7.35pm KO) in the first Elimination Final of the Hyundai A-League 2015/16 season.

The Finals Series fixture was confirmed today after the Roar finished third on the ladder after a scoreless draw against the Victory at AAMI Park on Saturday night.

Western Sydney moved into second spot with a 2-0 win over Wellington Phoenix while Adelaide United claimed the Premier’s Plate after the Roar were unable to collect all three points in the final-round clash against the Victory.

The Roar beat Melbourne Victory 5-0 when they met at Suncorp Stadium in Round 23 on 12 March.

The Roar will also have a point to prove to Victory after Saturday night’s agonising scoreless draw when they had 16 shots to two but were denied a win by the heroics of Victory goalkeeper Lawrence Thomas.

Despite the disappointment of not securing the three points and winning the Premier’s Plate, Roar Head Coach John Aloisi said his squad still has a “lot to play for”.

And in post-match interviews on Saturday night, Roar Captain Matt McKay indicated there was still unfinished business against the Victory.

“We are good at Suncorp (Stadium) and we will look forward to that one,” McKay said.
