John Aloisi’s men will start the new campaign with back-to-back home games as Queensland’s only Hyundai A-League side take on the Central Coast Mariners on Sunday, 21 October at Suncorp Stadium followed by an important Round 2 fixture against the Wellington Phoenix on Sunday, 28 October.

“As we announced in April, the Hyundai A-League 2018/19 Season will kick-off later than ever before allowing more overlap with the grassroots season and will break twice for FIFA international windows,” said Head of Hyundai A-League & Westfield W-League, Greg O’Rourke.

“The Westfield W-League 2018/19 Season will also kick-off the following week which will provide additional marketing opportunities for both the Leagues and the Clubs.”

The opening round clash against the Mariners is one of three home fixtures to be played at Suncorp Stadium inside the opening five rounds.

The Roar will host Wellington Phoenix in Round 2 (Sunday, 28 October) and celebrate Female Football Round at Suncorp Stadium with a clash against Melbourne City in Round 5 (Saturday, 24 November).

Season Draw

As confirmed today, defending champions Melbourne Victory will twice make the trip north to Suncorp Stadium in Rounds 8 & 14, and are one of four clubs to do so.

“We’re excited about the season ahead. The fixture list is significantly more favourable than the past season which we are pleased about,” Managing Director David Pourre said following today’s announcement.

“We are pleased that we can now confirm that our round 14 home match against the Victory in Brisbane on Tuesday, 15 January will be played at Suncorp Stadium.”

History will be made at Suncorp Stadium in Round 27 when the Club hosts the first ever Anzac Day Hyundai A-League fixture against Adelaide United.

“We’re proud to host a match on Anzac Day which is a significant day in the hearts and minds of all Australians,” Pourre added.

“It is our opportunity as a code and a club to honour and respect those who have served our country with distinction and honour. We know that Queenslanders will embrace this tradition on this salient day.”

With the Roar currently visiting Mackay as part of a pre-season regional tour, Head Coach John Aloisi is busily preparing his talented squad for a tilt on a fourth Hyundai A-League Championship.

“To open the season with back-to-back home games is a huge advantage as we strive to make Suncorp Stadium our fortress and a place opposition sides fear,” Head Coach John Aloisi said.

“We have started pre-season in a really positive manner. The squad is working hard and I know they are hungry to have success in 2018/19.”

BRFC will host 13 home fixtures throughout the campaign including two clashes against defending premiers Sydney FC (Rounds 18 & 23), Western Sydney Wanderers (Rounds 16 & 21) and Wellington Phoenix (Rounds 2 & 25).

Brisbane will play their final three regular-season games on home turf as the club looks to secure a ninth consecutive finals series appearance in 2018/19.
